Ok. Holiday cards will likely end up being after the new year. Between work and doctor's appointments and finding out I am going to need fairly major surgery on my "good" foot in the next couple weeks, I just haven't gotten around to shopping for the cards. Though I DO have stamps!
So, renewed call for addresses, if you didn't reply to my original cards post with an address and would like a card, please reply here. All comments will be screened and I'll get them sent out before my surgery!

What good is it to hire a plow service if they don't clear the parking spots?
I would go out and do it myself but my shoulder is killing me and I have to get ready for work soon. I guess if they haven't done it by the time I get home I'll do it this afternoon. But this is the second heavy-ish snow of the season and the packed down snow in the spaces is ridiculous.

Wow was that a slap in the face. Winter arrived out of nowhere and with it came non working heat and a frozen shut patio door. Two of the reasons we took this place were the rentla company provides the head and so I could step out on the patio to smoke instead of having to run up and down three flights of stairs.
It's -5f with a windchill of -18f. My apartment is not frigid, but 66 isn't comfortable for me, especially when the thermostat is set to 80+. The heat worked better when we had it turned off!
My poor cat desperately wants to go outside, yes, the one pictured in the icon. He's silly, but I always let him.. if only to let him run back inside when he realizes it's too cold or too wet. But I have to run stairs now and I can't let him loose in the halls. Bah.
I am not a happy girl.
Go away, winter.

Does anyone know if you can have paychecks direct deposited to one of those pre-paid cash card deals?
I am really sick of my bank rearranging my transactions so I keep overdrafting right before my check goes in. I can't afford this.

I ordered new checks recently, since my folks are getting ready to sell their house. I don't want my bank sending stuff there right?
Last night I looked at my account and it was overdrafted by seven dollars and some change. Today I looked to see that the overdraft came into being because of the check shipping fee and $9 in out of network ATM fees.
Monday, if there's an overdraft fee I will call the buggers and tell them to reverse it because it was THEIR fees, which I pay willingly, that caused it and I will not be penalized for paying them money a little earlier than I had it available.
Yes.
Off to work.

Got my new phone, moving everything from old to new is a pain.
I hope your guy appreciates all the work I'm doing here, wide_rider! ;)

29 degrees outside with the sliding glass door and bedroom window cracked open creates 74 degrees inside. The heat still isn't on.
Do you suppose we'll have to flip that switch at all this year?

It's interesting how 25 degrees outside feels fairly comfortable when it's close to 80 degrees inside. I've always been a freeze baby, I wonder if maybe it's always been cause I was never warm enough inside, so winter was miserable outside.

I just realized last night that if I'm idle on AIM for a long time, it sets me to be invisible. There doesn't seem to be an option to turn this feature off and I can't find an older version of the program to use. So, if you want to send me a message but I don't show as online.. try anyway. Chances are I am signed in, though I may be away.
One of my bosses is not doing so well, which may result in 60 hour work weeks for a while.. you can always text me to find out where I am too.
Winter is almost upon us, it's been a weird year. It was a chilly spring, a mostly not hot summer (only a couple weeks, non consecutive, that were above 80) and a cold fall. We've had snow a couple of times already in October. I suspect winter is going to be extra vicious this time around.
My sister's birthday is this coming weekend. I need to remember to call and wish her a happy one. Thanksgiving will be spent in Hudson Wisconsin with a large group of people both related to me and complete strangers. Should be interesting!
I've been feeling really unstable and unhappy for about a year now. I have suspected for a while that it's because I'm no longer living at home which makes it worse because as a 31 year old adult I shouldn't feel the need to live with my parents. Once I'm eligible for insurance through work, if the plan is affordable and usable with my medical providers, I think I need to get back into therapy and onto meds to get stabilized.
I don't want to shower this morning, I did it last night. I should shower anyway, otherwise what is a long day will feel cruddy cause I'll eventually feel crusty and dirty. On the upside, I left the office in pretty decent shape for myself Saturday night so it won't be a rough morning.
I went to three separate parties Saturday after work, though I bailed on two of them after less than an hour. I was just too wiped out after staying up too late Friday and working all day Saturday to stay up and party like a rock star. Boo.. the years catch up!
Everyone is doing Christmas card posts, so I'll say Baaa.. comments screened, leave your address and I'll send ya something cute! Fair warning though, I have AWFUL handwriting!

[31 Oct 2009|08:32am] |
Again. I'm glad I have a full cover costume to wear tonight after work.
It's also rather amusing to me to realize that it's usually 78 or so in the apartment, now it's 71 and I feel chilly. That might be because I went out last night and still have some alcohol content.. but 71 is kind of chilly.

I need a really good beef roast recipe. The plan is Tuesday since I have the day off, I got this three pound hunk of gorgeous beef to make up, so I want kind of an all day deal.
Anyone got any suggestions?

I went to the ER (they call it an ED now but I can't bring myself to use that acronym) this morning, which was a gorgeous morning by the way! and had the ER doc cut my swelled up foot open and poke around in it with a forceps to make the swelling go down a little.
I now have a lovely gash in the top of my foot and some antibiotics.
Pics to come later!

Things are smoothing out at work, that's good.
But the handiman for the apartment complex just insinuated that I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to turn off a stove because the igniter on the gas got stuck. I turned it down, I turned it all the way off, I lit all the other burners, I turned it back off all the way and it still went *tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick**tick*. So I went down to the office, and the handiman took his sweet assed time getting up here, came in, turned the burner on, turned it back off and the ticking quit.
So I'm the idiot, apparently.

[12 Oct 2009|08:16am] |
No pitures this time, but we're expecting 2 to 5 inches of the white stuff and the weather agencies are calling it the "first signifigant snow fall of the season". It's WAY too early for this.
Thankfully my work schedule got changed and I don't have the 31 mile drive to get to work today. Instead I have the 7 mile one way, which is much easier to get through. Hopefully tomorrow things will be clear and dried out some.
